The only state park to offer horseback riding on the beach, a 45-minute riding tour is available through the forest and along the Atlantic Coast beach. Fishermen can surf fish along the shoreline or fish from the mile-long George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier which spans Nassau Sound. Amelia Island State Park is the perfect place for viewing shore birds, with black skimmers, piping plovers, terns, white pelicans, and many other birds.

Located just south of historic St. Augustine on Anastasia Island, Anastasia State Park boasts a broad beach flanked by sand dunes and a lagoon bordered by rich tidal marshes. Camping, beachcombing, swimming, fishing, picnicking, windsurfing, hiking, wildlife-viewing, canoeing and kayaking are popular activities, with nature trails that wander through sand dunes shaded by hammock forest. The park has 139 campground sites equipped for both tent campers and RVers.
